Working with documents
Importing an index
On a matter with an Index basis, you work from an index of the seller's data room rather than the documents themselves.
On a matter with an Index basis, you work from an index of the seller's data room rather than the documents themselves. The team reviews the documents in the seller's data room and uses Legatics to track them, raise issues and send DDQs.
Open Diligence in the left-hand navigation menu and click Documents.
Prerequisite: You must be a due diligence admin to import an index.
Importing an index
- Click Import index
- Click Choose file and select the index exported from the seller's data room
- Click Next and check the Preview
- Confirm the import
Each entry in the index appears as a row on the Documents page, grouped by the folders in the index, with a file type label such as PDF, Word or Excel.
Note: if you have selected the document basis then Import index will not show up
Importing an updated index
When you receive an updated index, import it in the same way. Legatics compares it with the previous index so you can see what has been added, replaced or removed, rather than working it out line by line.
Click What's new at any time to see index changes within a date window.
Working with index entries
Index entries work in the same way as uploaded documents. You can classify them to a workstream, set a review status, raise issues and link DDQs. See Uploading and classifying documents for the table columns and filters.
